Kalooki
Tips
The following tips will help you deal and build your game strategy in the
kalooki version. We warmly recommend learning these tips and memorizing them, as this will help you when you become more professional and try more games in certain moves during the game.
The
Deck of cards
In the kalooki version you play with 2 decks of 52 cards each, this means that there are 104 cards + 2 jokers (every card will appear twice). This is the only version that
Jokers are played in.
Drawing a card
The act of drawing a card at the beginning of each turn is actually the most important and crucial move of the game, don't forget you have the option of drawing a card either from the
discard pile or from the deck pile.
Discarding a card
At the end of each turn the player discards a card to the discard pile and with this move ends his turn. Discarding the card plays a major rule in the game strategy and has a great meaning.
Melding
In the kalooki version you need to add up series which their value will be worth 51 points and above in order to
meld in the first time. Differently than the other version in which they have no minimal condition to meld.
Adding up
After melding and during the game you will want to add cards to already melded series. You will want to do it faster and before the other players and prevent them from adding cards to the series on the table.
The element of surprise
The ending move or the hunt move is the main object of every player. To win the game this will get you an extra 25 points. There is a great risk in doing that so pay attention.
Melding
In the later stages of the game when you are dealing with 3 more players, most likely that you will get to a situation in which they all already melded and revealed their cards. Don't wait and surprise them with a hunt, meld your series as quickly as possible and prevent yourself from a big loss when all the cards are still in your hand. It's very important to do so especially in the
elimination tourneys where the points you are left with are working against you
