Kalooki Strategy

Relating the tips we showed you previously, here are some game strategies in which you can use when you are playing the Kalooki game version and you run into certain moves.

Deck Of Cards

Since the Kalooki game is played with 2 decks of cards, each card will appear twice. This is why if you are waiting to build a certain series and you count on a certain card, it's not so bad if you missing this card once, it can appear another time. Build your hand according to the cards already discarded.

Drawing a card

When you draw a card at the beginning of each turn, you have the option of drawing the card either from the discard pile or from the deck pile. If you draw the card from the deck pile and prevent yourself from drawing cards from the discard pile you will cause the other players to be curious about your hand. When you are drawing a card from the deck, the card is hidden and your competitors won't know which card you actually drew. If you draw a card from the discard pile all the other players will know what you drew because the card is revealed and then they can guess which cards you need for the game. The more curious the other players be about your cards, the more they will fear from you during the game and you will stay more mysterious.

Discarding a card

When you discard a certain card at the end of your turn, it is important that first you will discard a card you don't need and doesn't fit the other cards in your hands and second, it is very important that you discard a card that the next player won't need. This is why it's very important to pay attention to the cards that player is discarding and this is how you can make it more difficult on that player's game.

Melding

In order for you to get a hold of a hand which their series value reaches 51 and above, it is very important to keep high value cards in your hands until you get and create series which sums up with 51 and above. Do it so that you can first meld and then continue playing more conveniently and with no pressure. The demand for a sum of 51 and above can make you stressed and confused when you see your opponent's melding before you since you don't want to stay with all the cards in your hand if you are losing as the points are counted as negative points. This is why it's important to create series which sums 51 and above as soon as possible and then meld as soon as possible, especially in the elimination tourneys, as you will get eliminated when you get a certain amount of negative points.

Adding up

Pay attention, it's very important to open your eyes and check all the series on the table and try to complete cards to those series, cards which you are drawing from the deck or cards which were discarded by the other players. Don't discard cards which will match your opponents and enable them to add up cards themselves, it's important to stay alert and treat each series which is placed on the table. It happens many times when players discard a card which can add up, due to hastiness and unawareness to what happens in the game, sometime it can determine the result of the game.

The element of surprise

If you are planning to win by a hunt, you must pay attention and be aware to the process of the game from the start, you must read your opponent's moves and remember the cards they discarded or drew (if they drew from the discard pile). If you are going for a hunt, do it quick and in the early stages of the game before you will be surprised yourself. This is the element of surprise.
