Michigan Rummy – Stops - Boodle

The Michigan Rummy game can hold between 3-8 players. This is a pretty simple game which is based on stops, when the main object is to get rid of the cards in your hand and winning with the help of certain cards. In the stopping game you need to build running series usually, the turn doesn't switch, the player holding the next card is playing the round. Cards which are called "stops" are usually cards which are out of the game. The meaning is that the game can't go on.

There is a version which is called 3 in one, where before the move of the stop, each player chooses 5 cards from the cards in his hand and plays a game of poker with these cards against the rest of the players. Due to this move the game is called Michigan Rummy. In the Michigan rummy version 1 deck of 52 cards is played. The lowest card is 2 and the highest will always be the Ace card. During the game the stakes are set in a certain order, the stakes represent the following cards: J, Q, K, A. Sometimes these cards are called Pay cards or Boodle Cards.

Before the game each player except from the dealer place one chip in the center of the game board and the dealer place 2 chips.

The Dealer deals all the cards one by one to all the players starting the player who sits on the left and so on. It is not obligatory that all the players will have the same number of cards. It doesn't matter. Each player is dealt an extra hand which is not revealed at all during the game, only if a certain player bought it and decided to use it instead of the original hand he got originally.

The game begins and the first player can meld any series he wants (a run) but he will have to start with the lowest card he has, after the turn goes to the next player who must continue the series from the highest card in the series of the first player and so on until they get to the Ace card (the last one), In case you don't get to the Ace card the game stops and the player who's turn to play can continue the series with the lowest card in his hand, but with a different shape than the shape of the cards which were played in the previous round.

When you get to the money cards mentioned earlier, a player who melds such a series is allowed to collect all the chips he runs into, if a certain player who is supposed to meld his lowest card and don't and instead use a different card, he will be fined with 1 chip for each of the participating players.

The Object of the game:

1. Melding all the cards to the table.

2. Playing the bonus round and collecting chips from the table. The first player who completes all his cards is allowed to collect all the chips in the center of the table, not including the bonuses which goes on to the next round.

3. At the end of the last game, the chips which remain on the table are divided equally for all players.
