Michigan Gin Rummy
The person who deals gives out all the cards in the deck starting with the player on his left by giving each person, including him and one "dummy," one card at a time. Not every player has to get the same number of cards. The person who dealt has the privilege to either trade the dummy hand for his own, as long as he is not holding any bonus cards in his original hand (see the illustration on the playing board) or to auction off the dummy hand to whoever bids the highest. The only players who can place a bid for the extra hand are those who do not have any bonus cards. The person who dealt gets the chips paid for the extra hand. A player buying an extra hand plays only that hand. The only player to see the extra hand is the player who uses it.

Rummy play: The player sitting to the dealer's left is granted the first turn. He may play whatever suit he likes, but is required to play the lowest card that he holds in that suit. Then the player with the next highest card in the suit plays it, and so on, until someone plays the ace or a card in the dummy hand is played. After the sequence is completed, the player who last played a card begins the next round by discarding the card with the lowest value in an opposite-colored suit from the previous round. If the player is unable to discard, the turn passes to the player seated to the left.
