Learn to play Michigan Rummy
Someone played the ten of spades. Because the Jack of Spades was dealt into the dummy hand, the
sequence was at its end. The same player then began a fresh sequence by advancing the three of hearts. If it should happen that this player and no other player is holding a red card in his or her hand, the play then returns to player one, who can play a like color card.
The only time a player may collect on a money card is when he discards said card in proper turn. Whenever he gets to play what is considered a money card, he gets all the chips that are in the designated area. The money cards -- 7, 8, and 9 (any suit), and the Queen and King of Hearts, have to be played in order.
If a player leads with a card that is not the lowest in suit, he must pay one chip each to all players, and is disqualified from collecting any money cards for the duration of the hand.
If a player fails in playing a card that he should have and ends the sequence prematurely, he is disqualified from collecting any money cards for the rest of the hand. At the end of the hand, if chips remain on the money card of the suit of an illegally withheld card, the player responsible must pay as their penalty an amount of chips equal to those in the compartment to the money card holder. If the culprit goes out first, he may not take any bonus chips, and the game goes on.
