Oklahoma Gin, American Card games
In this version of the game, the card that is turned up on the deal establishes the maximum
amount of deadwood a player can knock with. As usual pictures denote 10. In the instance of a seven being flopped, you have to reduce your count to 7 or less in order to knock.
If the first card the dealer turns up is a spade, then all scores, including bonuses, are doubled for that deal.
Unlike other versions in which a score of 100 wins, a score of 150 is required to win
card games - Oklahoma Gin.
If an ace is turned up, you may only knock if you can go gin, in some variations.
In addition to the undercut bonus, some play that a player who undercuts the knocker scores an extra box. In gin, the person that gets gin gets two extra boxes.
Along with the normal boxes for hands won, these extra boxes are recorded on the scorepad; they do not count towards winning the game, but at the end of the game they translate into 20 or 25 points each. You get two extra boxes for an undercut and four extra boxes for going gin if the up-card was a spade.
