Gin Rummy Tips

1. Knock, knock, and knock. That’s the fastest way to win Gin Rummy. Usually two matched sets and runs with low unmatched cards can be enough. Remember that if you can't go Gin, it's not 100% safe to knock.

2. Knocking early gives you the advantage of catching your opponents with high, unmatched cards.

3. The worst cards you can have are Aces and Kings. They are high and can't match to many sets and runs. The best cards to have are Six's and Seven's.

4. Do not use the discard pile too much. Your opponents are watching you and can plan your next move by understanding the set and runs you are arranging to meld.

5. Waiting to middle card can prevent you from winning. It's better to have 10 and jack, because you can wait for either Queen or 9. If you hold 10 and Queen, only a Jack can save you and then the possibility in the Gin Rummy game to make it happen is lower.

6. Gin Rummy has big focus on the unmatched cards, you must make sure not to have high cards at the end of the rounds. If your unmatched cards are higher than 10, discard them as soon as possible, especially is the game is getting closer to its end.

7. Use triangle cards. Triangles cards are for example: 10 harts, Jack hart and 10 Spade. This way you have lots of chances to have either set or run.

8. Look at your opponents drawing Cards from the discard pile. You can predict their moves.
