End of a Gin Rummy round
In the game of
Gin Rummy the
Play terminates if there are only two cards left in the
stock pile, and the player who pulled the third to the last card does not knock when discarding. If the hand is canceled the dealer will deal again, with no points earned by the players.
How to Score: Each player adds up the total of the card games that aren't matched. The knocker scores the difference between the two counts if the knocker's count is lower.
If the knocker does not have a gin, and all players have an equal score, or the knocker's score is greater than the opponents, the knocker has been undercut. If this happens the knocker's opponent gets the difference between the counts along with a bonus of 10 points. Play card games
A person who has a gin receives 20 bonus points, and the score of his opponents unmatched cards. A player can never be undercut if they go in gin. Whether the other player has unmatched cards or not, the knocker receives a 20 point bonus.
Until one player's total score reaches 100 points or more, the game continues with further deals. This player will receive a bonus of an additional 100 points. If the loser scored nothing during the game, the winner gets 200 points instead of 100.
Additionally, each gets a 20 point bonus for each round that they won. This is known as the line or box bonus. These additional points cannot be counted as part of the 100 needed to win the game.
After the bonuses have been added up, the player with the lowest score will pay the player with the highest score the difference of their scores.
