Rummy-Games.com is a new website that I came across yesterday when I was researching for today’s post.  This website is a very detailed website and features a comprehensive collection of guides for all the different online rummy games.  The rummy games that they cover include Canasta games, Gin Rummy games, Kaluki games, Phase 10 games, Rummy Games, Rummy 500 games, Rummikub games, and Tripoley games.  Some of these games I haven’t even heard of so it was good to know that these guides do exist and where to go to find the rules and requirements for these games.

Rummy Games also has a selection of guides that are created by rummy game type and these are broken down into rummy card and board games, rummy games for windows, rummy games for Macintosh, rummy games for PalmOS, rummy games for PocketPC and free rummy games.

This website also provides information on all the latest rummy software releases including paid desktop software and free rummy software too.  This software is excellent for anyone who would like to practice their online rummy skills so that they can take part in the top online rummy cash tournaments that are available on Rummy Royal and 32Red Rummy.  If you can master all the skills and strategies using free software first then you really won’t mind registering with these websites and spending your cash.

Some of the software that is reviewed on this website includes 100% free Gin Card game for windows, Championship Gin Pro for windows, Hand and Foot Canasta, and much more.  You can find out all the information on this software by reading the extensive reviews that are listed.  These reviews also let you know how much the software is, whether there is a trial version available and where you can buy it from.  Personally I would look at downloading a free software if you just want to practice before registering with an online rummy website.

The Rummy Games website really is packed with some great information and guides so if you want to know what the rules and regulations are for certain online rummy games then I definitely recommend you visit this website.

Until next time,

Some people are too intimidated to try Rummy variants that they may have never played before. There are plenty of die hard Gin Rummy players who have never tried Kalooki, Oklahoma, or other Rummy games. What they may not realize, though, is that even though there are plenty of differences in the various Rummy games, there are also plenty of similarities. For example, you always have the choice of either picking up a card from the stock pile or from the discard pile and for almost all of the Rummy games, if you choose a card from the discard pile, while not always advised, you can hold on to it until you get the rest of your set or run. The difference is in the game of Kalooki 40, where any card picked up from the discard pile must be played in a meld immediately, which is a nice change because you don’t have to be bothered with remembering what your opponents are holding.

The point is, though, that many of the Rummy online games operate in much the same way. They just have a few differences to keep the game exciting. Some of the games will let you play your cards on your opponent’s melds and there are various ways of doing this as well. Oklahoma Rummy gives you the chance to undercut when your opponent knocks so you can still win even when you aren’t the first to lay your cards down.

Rummy Royal has all of your favorite Rummy games with complete instructions for each of them so you never have to feel lost. If you’re new to the game, take a few minutes to acquaint yourself with the rules by playing for free and before you know it, you’ll feel confident enough to wager in any of the most popular Rummy games.

While the rules of the various Rummy games are simple to learn and easy to follow, strategy is a whole different ball game and it takes time to learn. While you can read about strategic moves in Rummy, strategy is something you only really learn by playing. Take discards. Beginning players often think of them as nothing more than unwanted cards and don’t bother to keep up with which cards have made it to the discard pile. By the same token, there are times when it is more important to risk losing higher value cards that you may need if it means getting rid of a load of deadwood.

Keep in mind that every card you pick up from the discard pile gives your opponent a peek into what you may be holding onto. By the same token, you get the same advantage when your opponent chooses to draw from the discard pile. By looking at the cards already on the table and paying attention to the cards your opponent picks up, you can do a great deal of surmising as to what he or she might need next. Employing this one strategy can buy you the time you may need to either get the cards you need or get rid of some heavy deadwood.

Discards work pretty much the same way in almost every version of Rummy, with the exception of Kalooki 40. In this game, once you pick up a card from the discard pile, you must play it in a meld in the same turn. While this can be somewhat of a burden, it also frees you from trying to memorize the cards your opponent picks up because, unlike other Rummy games, they won’t be holding onto the card, waiting for another card with which to meld, knock, or go out.

At any rate, don’t discount the discards. They are an important part of any Rummy game. Try this. Head on over to Rummy Royal and see if you can remember every discard that is picked up by your opponent. When it’s your turn to discard, don’t just think about the cards you don’t need, think about the point value of the deadwood you’re holding onto and think about whether or not you’re handing your opponent a winning combination with your next discard. You’ll find more winning Rummy tips at RummyRoyal.com.
