Rummy is a very popular card game and one that is favoured among many.  Rummy has some great variations too.  In today’s post I want to tell you about some great tips and tricks when it comes to progressive rummy.  Progressive rummy has plenty of twists to it and this is what makes is even more enjoyable and more distinguished from other variations.  The rules of this rummy game change after every deal and this is the main reason why it is called progressive rummy.

This rummy game can be played by three to eight people and you can use two or three decks to play.  You need to decide who the dealer is going to be and then he/she will deal six cards to each player.  In the first deal you need to make two sets.  In the second deal you get seven cards and you are required to make one set and one sequence.  In the third deal you get eight cards and you are required to make two sequences.  Deal four has nine cards and you need to get three sets.  The fifth deal has ten cards and you have to get two sets and one sequence.  Deal six is eleven cards and you have to get one set and two sequences.  Deal seven is the last deal and you get 12 cards.  For this one you have to get three sequences.  After this round the scores are calculated.

Like all other rummy games you have to pick up a card from the discard or the stock pile.  You also have to meld you cards.  You need to try to get rid of all of your cards by melding or laying down.  If you the first person to meld you win that deal and the other person gets penalty points.  When scoring, face cards are 10 points, Ace is 15 points and jokers are 25 points.  The player who has the minimum amount of points at the end of game wins.

You can play progressive rummy online too and this is a great way to interact with players from all over the world.  Online rummy also has the benefit of allowing you to play for cash prizes.

Online rummy is becoming extremely popular and today I want to give you some great tips and tricks when playing progressive rummy.  Progressive rummy has many great twists to it and that is what makes it so much more enjoyable that other rummy variations.  The rules of the game change after each deal and this is the reason why the game is called progressive rummy.

Progressive rummy can be played by three to eight people and it can use either two or three decks of cards.  The dealer will deal six cards to each player in the first deal and you have to try to make two sets with your cards.  In the second deal you are given seven cards and you have to try to get one set and one sequence.  The third deal sees players receiving eight cards and you have to get two sequences.  In the fourth deal players get nine cards and they have to try to get three sets.  The fifth deal has ten cards and you have to try to get two sets and one sequence.  The sixth deal has eleven cards and you have to try and get one set and two sequences.  The seventh deal is the final deal with players receiving 12 cards and they must try to make three sequences.  This is the final deal and the final score is then calculated.

Throughout the game just like other online rummy games you will need to pick up a card from the discard or stock pile.  You will also be trying to meld your cards.  The whole idea behind progressive rummy is to get rid of all your cards by melding or laying them down.  If you are the first person to meld you win that deal and the other players will receive penalty point depending on the cards they have left.

You can enjoy progressive rummy at a number of online rummy websites and this is a great way to compete against players from all over the world.  Another great thing about playing online rummy games has to be the fact that some of the online rummy websites offer some great cash prizes for these games too and if you play right you could be the one walking away with the cash jackpot.

Until next time,
