It seems like a lot more online casino websites are adding online rummy to their games selection.  This is great news for online rummy fans and it gives them a lot more choice too.  Most players can only play online rummy at Rummy Royal or 32Red Rummy and if more online casinos start to add this very popular game to their websites it will give players more options.

At Game Account they have just launched a new Gin Rummy lobby and you don’t need to download any software to use it.  You can join players from all over the world in this fast paced skill game and you can win real cash prizes too.  Game Account has stated that all players will find game features and wagers to suit them so this is great too.  All you have to do is select the Gin Rummy Lobby on their website.  From here you can create your own tables or accept other people’s challenges in this very user friendly lobby.  As I mentioned there is no download required for this online rummy lobby either which is great.

If you need help all you have to do is read the lobby guide and the game instructions.  There is also a quick start guide to help you out too.  There is also a bots guide which explains how to challenge the bot.  There are plenty of different game types and variations of Gin available on this website and you can improve your performance in the skill school which is another excellent feature.

You can improve you ratings and check your progress in any of the games by clicking on your name in the lobby.  All players start with 1,500 points and the most cash games that you win the higher your ranking will climb.  You can play against other players or the bots but be warned that when you ranking improves significantly the weaker bots will stop accepting your challenges.

This sounds like a great place to enjoy Gin Rummy and if you haven’t been to the Game Account website before maybe now is a good time to see what they have to offer.

Rummikub is another variation of the popular rummy card game. You can play Rummikub at Rummy Royal and this post will explain the differences between Rummikub and other rummy games and also how you play it.

Rummikub is not played with cards and instead uses colourful tiles that display different numbers. These numbers are 1 to 13 and include jokers. There are 2 sets of four different colours. The other main difference between Rummikub and other online rummy variations is that fact that players can disassemble melds they have already created and then arrange them so that they can be used to get rid of tiles that are in their hand.

Rummikub can be played by 2 to 4 players and the main goal of this game is to be the first player to get at least 200 points. You get points by melding tiles to the meld area. Rummikub has two types of valid melds that players can use and these are sets that are made up of the numbers and colours and runs which are at least three tiles in sequential order that are the same colour.

When playing Rummikub drawing a tile is an optional move and if you are able to meld any tiles you do not have to draw a tile. Melds can only be disassembled or built on only if a player already has a valid meld of at least 30 points, if the player adds at least 1 tile to the new melds or all melds on the table at the end of the move are valid.

There are two jokers in Rummikub and these can be used in exchange for any other tile. If the round ends any player with a joker remaining in their hand gets a 30 point penalty. Once a player gets rid of all their tiles the round ends and all other players are given penalty points based on the tiles they have remaining. The winner is then awarded their opponents penalty points as bonus points. The game ends when a player reaches 200 points or more.

This game sounds a little complicated but it is actually quite easy and great fun once you get used to it.

News has just been released that RM Media Ltd have collaborated with Rummy Limited and they are launching a brand new online rummy brand as part of the online rummy network. This brand new network will be owned by Rummy Limited and will be called Rummy Express. This new online rummy brand will be run and operated by the RM Royal Media professional team and Rummy Limited will focus on attracting traffic.

The Rummy Network started about two years ago and they offer games like gin rummy, Kalooki and rummy 500 which feature on the Rummy Royal website. 32Red Rummy was the first to join this network and they bought a license. Rummy Express have bought a white label solution. The entire platform now supports 14 different languages and they have several different skins to choose from too.

The new Rummy Limited is owned and run by a professional online gaming party that specialise in online bingo and the Rummy Express platform has been designed to encourage online bingo players to join and feel right at home in the online rummy room. This new partnership will allow Rummy Limited to maximise profits and generate more revenue from its existing clientele.

This is great news for the online rummy community and it means that there will be more places to play this very popular game and its many variations. Online gaming operators will be able to receive a fully branded platform. Rummy Express hasn’t launched yet but I’m sure that when it does it will be very welcome and very popular. Online rummy is very popular already but there are only two main websites where tournaments are held and these are Rummy Royal and 32Red Rummy so it will be nice to see some other online rummy websites coming online. What do you think? Would you like to see more online rummy websites with more promotions and tournaments that you can play in?

In yesterdays posts I spoke about Kalooki rummy and today I want to give you a list of terms that you should be familiar with if you want to play this great online rummy game.

Set: A set is a grouping of 3 or more cards of the same rank, eg, 3 or hearts, 3 of spades, 3 of clubs.

Run: A run is a group of 4 or more sequenced cards of the same suit.  In Kalooki you should not that Aces are always the highest card.  An example of a run would be J,Q,K,A.  A,2,3,4 is not a run.

Meld: A meld is all the sets or runs that are placed on the table.  When a player places sets or runs on the table then are melding.

Joker: There are two jokers used in Kalooki rummy.  Both of these are considered to be wild cards and they can take the place of any other card in a set or run.  An example of this would be 9, 9, Jkr where the joker represents a nine.

Building: In Kalooki rummy you can build on each player’s melds so long as it is your turn and you have the cards needed to continue the set or run that has previously been melded.  You should note that you can only build if you have already melded.

Going out: Going out in Kalooki rummy is when a player runs out of cards by melding, building and discarding his final card on the open pile.  When a player goes out they win the hand and the score is then calculated.

Going Kalooki: This is when a player completes everything required to go out in a single play.  If the player is holding all of their cards and has not yet melded then he melds and plays the last card on the discard pile all in the same play then they have gone Kalooki.

Well that’s it for the glossary.  I know that it sounds a lot more complicated than it is but once you become familiar with the terms used in the game and once you play a few times you will see just how easy it is.

Kalooki Rummy is another variation of the traditional rummy game and it is very similar to Gin Rummy.  The object of Kalooki is to be the first person to run out of cards and this will win you the hand.  You score is then calculated and more hands will be played.  At the end of the Kalooki rummy session the player with the most points will win the overall game.

At the beginning of the game a specific number of hands will be determined or else there will be a predetermined points value that must be reached in order to win the game.

Kalooki is played using two standard decks of cards plus 2 jokers.  This means there is a total of 106 cards used and up to four players can be included in a game.  When a player wins a hand in Kalooki rummy by going out or going Kalooki all the cards remaining in their opponents hands are then added up.  The total of these cards is that score for the winning player.  Cards are scored by their face value from 2 to 10.  Face cards are 10 points each and Aces are 1 point.  If a player goes Kalooki then all the other players must take a penalty of 25 points which is subtracted from their overall score.

When playing Kalooki online, the game will begin with each player drawing one card.  The highest card will determine who the dealer will be.  Cards are then shuffled and cut and then each player is dealt 10 cards.  A final card is then placed face up to start the game.  The remaining cards are placed face down and this is the stock pile.  Players take it in turns and they must draw a card from the stock pile and then end their turn by placing a card on the discard pile.  The game continues this way until one player runs out of cards and then the score is calculated.  When the draw pile only has 2 cards left the hand will end and there will be no winner.  A new hand will then be dealt.

In the next post I will discuss the glossary of terms that you need to be familiar with in order to play Kalooki Rummy.

Gin rummy tournaments are very popular and most online rummy website will hold regular tournaments for their members.  These tournaments are usually multi-player tournaments especially for gin rummy and you will have to pay an entry fee to participate.  You will also need to be a registered member on the online rummy website too.

Most online gin rummy tournaments have great cash prizes too.  Just like real land based tournaments players in an online rummy tournament will have to pay an entry fee or buy in fee to be allowed to participate and win cash prizes.  You may have to read up on eligibility terms and conditions too so be sure to check these with the gin rummy website you plan on playing in.

You will need to purchase tickets in order to take part in the gin rummy tournament and you will find all the necessary details on the online rummy website that the tournament is being featured on.  Most online rummy websites offer double and single elimination gin rummy tournaments although single elimination tournaments seem to be the most popular for online gin rummy.  Your gin rummy tournament will be played in a special tournament room and the schedule of games will be listed by your online rummy website.

The odds and prizes for gin rummy tournaments depend on a number of aspects. The amount of participants is always taken into consideration and most online rummy websites have their own specific set of rules that they apply. These are usually listed on the website too.

The two most popular online rummy websites where regular tournaments are held are Rummy Royal and 32Red Rummy.  These websites hold regular gin rummy tournaments and the cash prizes up for grabs are usually very high too.

If you would like to participate in gin rummy tournaments then these two websites are worth looking at.  Both websites are free to join and the buy ins for these tournaments are very well priced too. They also offer freeroll tournaments that you can take part in too for even more cash prizes.
