Rummy Royal always have some great promotions running and today’s post is going to take a look at one of the great tournaments that they have. This tournament is the Kalooki 51 $25,000 guaranteed prize rummy tournament. It will begin on Sunday, September 13th at 7pm GMT. The buy in for this tournament is $100 and you can rebuy up to four times in the first hour.

Vouchers for this tournament are up for grabs on a daily basis and you can get your hands on these by winning the daily or weekly qualifiers available on the Rummy Royal website. The buy ins for this voucher games are as low as $3.25 and in addition to the multi table qualifiers there are also games in which you can win vouchers for the 2 or 4 seat single tournaments.

As mentioned, the seats for the September tournament are worth $100 and for every $100 that is placed in to the prize pool of the qualifying voucher games there will be one voucher awarded. For example, if you play in the $25k x 2 qualifier where the buy in price is $16.50 and 30 players are playing then the prize pool for this game would be $450 and $400 of this would be used to place 4 tournament seats up for grabs. The remaining $50 prize money would be divided amongst the players according to the standard payout structure table on Rummy Royal.

There are plenty of qualifying games in the run up to the main tournament and if you would like to get your hands on a seat in the $25K tournament then you should check out the promotions page on the Rummy Royal website where you can find all the details including the list of qualifying games and their buy in prices too. Remember there are daily and weekly qualifying games in the run up to the main tournament event so you still have plenty of time to get your hands on one of the seats.

Welcome to the second part of this rummy glossary series. I won’t delay with an introduction today so if you’re ready let’s begin.

Dead Cards: These are the cards that are no longer available to play as they are either discarded or melded into a player’s hand.

Deuce: A two of any suit or colour

Discard: After a player draws a card from the stock pile and then places it on the discard pile.

Fill: This is the card that helps to turn a combination into a matched set.

Go Out: This term refers to getting rid of the last card in your hand.

House Rules: House rules are usually different from the official game rules and house rules are always agreed upon before the games starts. They can include optional rules.

Matched Set: A matched set is three or more cards that can be melded together.

Meld: This is three or more cards of the same value or rank such as the 7 of hearts, 7 of clubs, 7 of diamonds, or three or more of the same suit in a sequence or consecutive order such as the 4 of clubs, 5 of clubs, 6 of clubs, or the 8 of hearts, 9 of hearts, ten of hearts, and Jack of hearts.

Round The Corner: This is a rule that allows the Ace to be in sequence with both the king and the deuce. This rule is often only deemed valid when aces are high.

Speculate: This is to pick up your opponents discard so that it will produce a combination instead of a meld.

Undercut: This is where you reduce your deadwood to equal or less than your opponents after they have knocked.

Wild Discard: A wild discard is a completely unsafe discard but this sometimes become necessary in order to win the game.

Well that’s it for the rummy glossary. Hopefully you were already familiar with most of these terms but if not then hopefully you have learned something new also.

I have been posting about online rummy for quite some time now and so I thought I would do a two part series on all the rummy terminology that you should be familiar with. There is a large list of terms and that is why I am breaking this series into two parts. The glossary is in alphabetical format so here goes.
Aces High: This is only applicable in games where Aces are counted using higher points values for example Q-K-A is valid but A-2-3 is not. Some of the rummy games allow aces to be treated as both high and low.

Aces Low: This term refers to aces that are counted as a 1 point value. There are some rummy games that allow aces to have both high and low values so it is wise to check what rules apply to the game you are playing.

Baiting: This term can also be known as advertising, baiting, chumming, fishing, or tempting. It is when one player discards a card with the intention of convincing the other player to discard a card of the same rank or suit. This is a strategic rummy move.

Blind Discard: A blind discard is a term that is used when a player discards a card without having any idea whether or not their opponent can make use of it. This is a very common move at the start of a rummy game.

Block: This term refers to holding back a card so that it won’t allow your component to complete their meld.

Captain: This is where one player plays against two opponents or where two players play against three or even four players.

Combination: This term refers to two cards that can become a matched set if another suitable card is added to them.

Count: This is the total number of points that are in a hand after deducting the count of the total melded cards.

Cut: This refers to cutting the cards after they have been shuffled. This is to ensure fair play and the deck is cut in two with the lower portion being placed on the top to ensure that the order of the deck is changed.

That’s it for part one of this Rummy glossary series. There are some great terms listed here and ones that you should definitely be familiar with if you want to become an expert at your game.

Online Rummy from Game Account is a new online rummy website with a difference. With this website you don’t need to download any software and you can join in multiplayer Gin Rummy games and play them directly from your browser. Game Account is the world’s largest network of skill based person to person games and the launch of their Gin Rummy portal is proving to be very successful.

Game Account is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission and has been around since 2001. They specialize in online skilled games and they are located in London. Their skill games offer player the chance to win real cash prizes and at any given moment you are sure to find thousands of active players from over 130 countries worldwide getting ready to take part in some skilled action.

Game Account itself has over 20 different games for players to choose from but they only have one rummy variant at this time which is Gin Rummy. The games on this website are divided into two different categories which are multiplayer and single player games.

When looking at this website in terms of quality and dependability I was delighted to find that this website is top notch. Making a deposit into your account is easy and withdrawals are equally easy to make too. All transactions on this website are 100% secure and customer support is available via phone, live chat, and email. The only downside to this Gin Rummy website is that fact that the games are not open to US players, hopefully this will change soon though.

When you sign up with Game Account you will get a 100% signup bonus when you make your first deposit. There are also free tournaments taking place every day and freerolls are also available each week where players can win thousands of pounds in cash prizes. The freeroll tournaments also include Gin Rummy which is great. Game Account also includes a great loyalty program that pays you back up to 1% of your stakes as real cash.

It’s a shame that this website doesn’t offer more variations of online rummy games but I’m sure once they see how popular their Gin Rummy game is they will add more rummy variations.

Vegas Three Card Rummy uses a single 52 deck of cards.  Both the player and the dealer are dealt three cards each.  The player’s cards are dealt face up and the dealers cards are face down.  The goal of the game is to score fewer points than that of the dealer.  Each cards has a different value and they are ranked as follows:

Cards 2 to 10 have their face value, Jack, Queen, and Kings are worth 10 points each.  Aces are 1 point.  A pair of cards is worth 0 points as is a triple, a two card suited run, and a three card suited run.  It should be noted, that Ace, King, is not a suited run.

In order to play this rummy variation online the player will press the deal button and the basic bet amount is placed.  The player and the dealer will each get three cards and the player can only see his own three cards.  At this point the player will have to choose whether to fold or raise.  A player must raise in order to see the dealer’s cards.  If you choose to fold you lose your bet and the game ends.  If you decide to raise and view the dealers cards, the dealer must have 20 points or less or your automatically win.  If the dealer qualifies by having 20 points or less and his three card total is great than the players, the player wins.  There are different payouts depending on the players score.  If the players score is 0 the payout is at the ratio of 4:1, if the players points are 1 – 5 the payout ratio is 2:1, if the players points are 6 – 19 the payout ratio is 1:1.

This game is very similar to blackjack and if very much a game of chance.  The game also uses poker techniques in the fact that you can hold and raise, and rummy rules in that you can build suits and runs.  It is a fun and exciting game to play and it can be very quick and easy to learn.
