Oklahoma Gin Rummy is another variant of the traditional rummy game and it is available to play online. Oklahoma rummy is similar to Gin rummy and it is played with 2 or 4 people. This is a skill game and a deck of 52 cards is used.

When playing Oklahoma rummy the number of players determines the number of cards that are dealt. If there are two players each player will get 10 cards. If there are 3 or 4 players each player will get 7 cards each.

The aim of the game is to get rid of all your cards first by creating melds that consist of sets and runs. When you make a set or a run it is laid out on the table. As with all rummy variants melds are sets which contain 3 or 4 cards of the same numerical value and runs are 3 or 4 cards of the same suit that are consecutively numbered.

The game starts with one player drawing a card from the stock pile on the rummy table. The card can be added to the players hand and can be used to create sets or runs. The player must then discard a card onto the discard pile. In this rummy variant Aces have a points value of 1 and all other face cards have a points value of 10. The other cards have their face value.

When playing Oklahoma rummy there are three ways in which a player can win a round. These are called Gin, Knock and Undercut. The winner is the person who accumulates the most points at the end of all the rounds.

To win by going Gin a player needs to meld all the cards in their hand and lay them down on the table at once whilst placing the last card on the discard pile. After a player has gone Gin the other players can lay down any built melds onto the table to decrease their deadwood count. The player who goes Gin gets 25 points and all other players get double their deadwood count as penalty points.

A knock is where a player melds all of the cards in their hand and their deadwood count is equal or lower than the face value of the card that opened the round. After a player knocks the other players can lay their melds down on the table and they can also add matching cards to the knocking players melds. The knock winner gets 10 points and the other players get their deadwood count minus the Knocker’s deadwood count as penalty points.

If you would like to play this online rummy variant it is a good idea to play for free first so that you can build up your knowledge, skills and strategy before playing for cash prizes.

Rummy Royal has been celebrating and this is due to the fact that their 100,000,000th round of online rummy has been played.  The milestone game took place on the 3rd of March and it was a $500 tradition Rummy Practice Mode heads up match between players mumenthaler8 and 2smokingbarrels.

These players were showered with prizes and I’m sure they are still revelling in their luck and of course the fact that they have now become famous in online rummy circles all over the internet.  The two lucky players didn’t know that they were playing in such a special game and they were only contacted last week and informed that they were the lucky players in this milestone round and that this had won the special prizes.

The winner of this special game was 2smokingbarrels.  According to the Rummy Royal website the ten millionth player account is about to be opened on this online rummy website and they have crossed the one hundred million round bar too.  This is great news for this online rummy website and it really does go to show just how popular they are.

The Rummy Royal website has been the number one website for online rummy games for a long time now and I don’t see this changing anytime soon.  They have great tournaments and great prizes and they really do offer some really helpful tutorials and tips for beginners.  Their practice sessions are great because they are totally free and it means that players can practice any of the online rummy variations as much as they need to before taking part in any of the paid online rummy tournaments.

Okey which is pronounced as Okay has arrived at Rummy Royal.  This online rummy version is actually a Turkish variation of rummy and it is played with small ivory tiles.  A standard set of tiles for this game comes with two black ones which are similar to jokers in a standard deck of cards.

This new variation of the online rummy is proving to be a huge success and it is a great game to play.  The new Turkish rummy game can be a little confusing for experienced Kalooki players who are used to using their jokers but once you get the hang of this new online rummy variation it really is great fun.  This game is a strategy centred game that is recommended to most attentive and patient players.

There are a number of differences in this game and one of these is the fact that you can only lay off your cards when all of them are organized in runs and sets in your hand.  The cards in your hand don’t carry penalty points and the game ends with a -10, -20 or -40 score.

If you decide to give this game a try you really will need to pay more attention to your opponent and what they discard and what their desired tiles are.  Your opponent can only lay down tiles when they finish collecting tiles and this really does keep the suspense high in the game until the final play.

Turk Rummy as it is being commonly called isn’t just about sets and runs either.  Players can win with 7 identical pairs.  This is something that you will need to keep in mind when you are trying to figure out what your opponent is looking for.

It is a rather complicated game to try and explain in a blog post and the best thing to do would be to visit the Rummy Royal website and watch a demo of this game.  You can also practice this game for free on the Rummy Royal website too and the practice games come with in game instructions and strategic recommendations so that you can learn as you play.

Rummy is a very popular card game and one that is favoured among many.  Rummy has some great variations too.  In today’s post I want to tell you about some great tips and tricks when it comes to progressive rummy.  Progressive rummy has plenty of twists to it and this is what makes is even more enjoyable and more distinguished from other variations.  The rules of this rummy game change after every deal and this is the main reason why it is called progressive rummy.

This rummy game can be played by three to eight people and you can use two or three decks to play.  You need to decide who the dealer is going to be and then he/she will deal six cards to each player.  In the first deal you need to make two sets.  In the second deal you get seven cards and you are required to make one set and one sequence.  In the third deal you get eight cards and you are required to make two sequences.  Deal four has nine cards and you need to get three sets.  The fifth deal has ten cards and you have to get two sets and one sequence.  Deal six is eleven cards and you have to get one set and two sequences.  Deal seven is the last deal and you get 12 cards.  For this one you have to get three sequences.  After this round the scores are calculated.

Like all other rummy games you have to pick up a card from the discard or the stock pile.  You also have to meld you cards.  You need to try to get rid of all of your cards by melding or laying down.  If you the first person to meld you win that deal and the other person gets penalty points.  When scoring, face cards are 10 points, Ace is 15 points and jokers are 25 points.  The player who has the minimum amount of points at the end of game wins.

You can play progressive rummy online too and this is a great way to interact with players from all over the world.  Online rummy also has the benefit of allowing you to play for cash prizes.

When you play online rummy games you have to ways that you can win the game.  These are going out and going rummy.

When you run out of cards by melding or building on melds and then discarding your last card this is going out.

Going rummy is when a player runs out of cards by dropping his first meld, building on his existing melds and discarding his final card all in the same turn of play.

When this happens and the round ends the scores are then calculated.  This is done by adding up all the card values in the players hand after the other person has run out of cards.   When counting scores the cards from 2 to 10 are given their face value.   Face cards have 10 points each and Aces are 11 points each.  The person who runs out of cards first will have no points and will be declared the winner of the round.  If this person has gone rummy the other person get a penalty of 25 points.

In rummy the person with the lowest score wins and this is where the strategy of knocking comes into play.  I have written post on this strategy before and when you knock the score is calculated on deadwood cards that remain.

As you can see, the best way to win in a round of online rummy is to actually go rummy.  That way your opponent gets a penalty of 25 points added to their score which will really help you out when it comes to deciding the overall winner at the end of all the rounds of your online rummy game.

Online rummy is a game of skill and strategy and in order to get the best out of it you need to practice and understand all the rules of play.  There are a number of great online rummy websites where you can join and play for free until you are confident enough to play for real money.  Playing for free will allow you to build up your strategy and game plan before you spend any real cash.

When it comes to playing online rummy the basic rules for any of the variants of this game will all be the same.  When it is your turn you have to draw a card from the stock pile or the discard pile and try to create melds or sets with the hand of cards you have.

You can also do what is called a lay off and this is when you add to the sequence or group of cards that are already on the table.  This is simply building up an existing meld.

The next thing that you have to do is lay down a card.  When you lay down one of your cards after you have taken your turn you lay the card face down on the discard pile.  You are not allowed to lay down the card that you just picked up if you picked it from the discard pile.  You must wait till your next turn to get rid of this card if you don’t need it.  If you took the card from the stock pile and you don’t need it you can put this card down again on the discard pile during your turn.

There are no minimum or maximum requirements when it comes to the amount of sets or runs that you can play in a single hand of traditional rummy.  You can place as many sets or runs as you like until you run out of cards.  You do however have to meet certain requirements when it comes to other variations of online rummy games.

The main basic rules that you need to adhere to when playing online rummy games is that you take it in turns to pick up cards from the stock pile or the discard pile and you use these cards to help you form sets, runs and melds which help you to win the game.  When you have a set, run or meld created you place it on the table to help decrease the amount of cards you have.  The first person to create runs, sets or melds out of all of their cards wins the game.
